“What matters is that we followed up our good performance against Genoa with another solid game against Empoli,” he told the Press. “They were a tough opponent and they gave us trouble, but the team responded well.

“We'll prepare for the next game, with the objective of finishing strong at home with another good performance.

“I think these lads deserve a solid eight out of ten. They started the championship in tough conditions and being able to come back this way means they have character, and not just technique.

“The Azzurri? I'm not talking about this again. My contract is with Bologna and I intend to stay here.”
