Empoli Coach Marco Giampaolo says ‘it’ll be difficult for Federico Barba in Germany’ after his move to Stuttgart.
The young defender left the Azzurri for the Bundesliga club on transfer deadline day, after being linked with Napoli.
Giampaolo suggested that the 22-year-old could struggle there, and revealed that he was ‘disturbed’ by conceding five goals to Napoli.
“Barba? It’s pointless to think about him now because he’s gone,” he said at today’s Press conference ahead of the Serie A clash with Udinese.
“Federico is a player who expressed his qualities thanks to our defensive organisation. It’ll definitely be difficult for him in Germany.
“The Napoli match? The goal for 3-1 took the wind out of our sails, then the fourth and fifth goals at the end could’ve been avoided.
“Losing happens, but the two goals conceded at the end weren’t good, because conceding five goals is something that disturbs you.
“But the team is ready to go again, and we had a good training session today. I don’t know if this coincided with the closing of the market, but it could be that.
“Udinese are a strong, physical team and have reinforced during this market. It’ll be a difficult match tactically, we must play well.”
