According to Sky Sport Italia, Kondogbia’s five-year contract is worth €4.5m per season net, plus performance-related bonuses.

Sport Mediaset claim the real figure is €4.2m plus bonuses.

In any case, the 22-year-old will immediately become the highest-paid player in the squad ahead of star striker Mauro Icardi.

Kondogbia is expected to arrive in Milan either tonight or on Sunday, while his medical has been organised for Monday.

He is the third major deal clinched by Inter over the last 48 hours, along with Olympique Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula for €19m and Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda.
