The striker spoke to Sport1.de in Germany ahead of tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus.

“Tonight our chances of qualification are 50-50 and it is a very important game for us,” he said after the first leg ended 2-1 for the Viola in Turin.

“The future? I am very happy here, but it’s too early to say whether I’ll see out my career in Florence, even if it’s a definite possibility.

“Are the fans better in Germany or Italy? I don’t like to make comparisons. The Bayern Munich and Stuttgart supporters are great, but I can also say for certain that the Viola fans are absolutely fantastic.”

Gomez had gone months without a goal and struggled even after recovering from injury, but seems to have found his scoring touch again.

“Fitness and form are very important for players like me. I always worked hard, but knew it was just a matter of time before I got back on form.”
