Napoli have offered a four-year contract to Sassuolo's Simone Zaza, say reports, but his agent denies contacts.

The Neroverde striker's form has been impressive this season, and he has been linked to Juventus and Roma, with the former having a buy-back agreement in place for €15m having sold him in the summer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Napoli have made a move for the player too, offering a four-year contract at a salary of €1.7m per season.

This link has been denied by the player's agent Christian Maifredi, who was contacted by CalcioNapoli24 after the Gazzetta article was published.

“I haven't heard from [Napoli director Riccardo] Bigon in 22 months,” he told CalcioNapoli24. “I heard from others, but not him.

“Evidently the Gazzetta journalist heard some rumours coming from inside either of the clubs involved.

“I can't imagine what use Zaza would be to Napoli, when they already have [Gonzalo] Higuain and [Christian] Zapata.

“Even his future with the Bianconeri isn't certain. For now he's a player with Sassuolo, when the season is over it will be up to Juventus and Sassuolo to find an agreement.”
