Genoa President Enrico Preziosi says ‘we can’t go on like this’ after the Grifone’s controversial defeat to Napoli.
The side from the port city were defeated 2-1 at San Paolo last night, but the Partenopei’s first goal looked offside, while the second was a contested penalty.
The patron was reportedly furious, and hinted that Napoli’s complaints after their defeat to Juventus has led to them getting favourable decisions in their last two games.
“It’s a different sport,” Preziosi is quoted as saying by the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“If we have to play in a different League, just say so because we can’t go on like this.
“Someone complains about something wrong, and right away they get something, in some ways a bye in the Coppa Italia [Napoli beat Udinese, including a similarly contentious penalty].
“Then a penalty, an offside goal… no, that’s not right.
“It started from our match with Roma, the story has been the same since then: a series of refereeing oversights, offside goals, fouls on the goalkeeper, no-one sees anything.
“What can we do?”
