Rudi Garcia has reiterated his desire to stay at Roma and reflected on what he feels is needed to convince Miralem Pjanic the same.

The Giallorossi head into the summer with continued speculation surrounding their Bosnia-Herzegovina playmaker’s future, with a new contract not yet signed amid links to Paris Saint-Germain.

“Miralem is a remarkable talent and there has never been any question, early in the season or in the winter, about him leaving,” the player’s current Coach, Garcia has assured French magazine Surface this week.

“He has understood, he knows how very important he is to me in my midfield.

“What matters is that we can offer him a project for the height of his talent and there are all the elements to make him stay.”

Speculation is also on Garcia’s own future at the club, with it seen that talks over a new two-year extension through to June 2017 are ongoing.

“I hope that the future will allow me to stay for a long time at Roma to win. This club needs to do well in the Champions League every year and fight for the title in Italy.

“There has never been a need to convene a council of wise men because there are many leaders who do not need directives.

“My contract? The ambition is to build a great club. I want to get to the top.  Just like James Pallotta.”
