Riccardo Montolivo believes there are at least three teams better equipped than Italy to win the 2014 World Cup.

The Milan man is expected to be part of the Azzurri squad which will search for glory in Brazil, but the playmaker respects the competition his side are likely to face.

“I believe that there are countries such as Brazil, Germany and Spain ahead of Italy, but we are right behind them,” the former Fiorentina man noted.

The draw for the Finals will take place on December 6 after the qualification process was completed this week.

France and Portugal will also be in the competition after they won their play-off ties. The latter did so with the help of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now being tipped to beat Franck Ribery to the Ballon d’Or.

“You have to understand whether the Golden Ball is given out for the merits of the team or that of the individual,” Montolivo continued.

“In the first case it would go to Ribery, in the second to Ronaldo. I think the winner will come from one of those two.”
