Cristian Brocchi is hopeful that he will be handed a new one-year contract with Italian club Lazio.
The 36-year-old is only tied to the outfit until June 2012, but he’s keen on a renewal with the Stadio Olimpico club.
“There haven’t been any significant forward steps yet,” agent Davide Lippi told La Lazio Siamo Noi.
“There is, however, a desire to open talks very soon and I think we’ll meet up with the club – it will be up to them to tell us what to do.
“I think that we’ll discuss a new one-year deal.”
The former Inter and Verona player, signed from Milan in 2008, has played in 11 League games so far this term. He’s currently sidelined with a foot problem.
