Espanyol have admitted an interest in keeping Inter midfielder Philippe Coutinho at the club for the 2012-13 campaign.

The Brazilian youngster joined the Spanish outfit in January on loan until the end of the season after failing to break into the Nerazzurri first team.

Although he only recently scored his first goals for the club, a brace in the 5-1 win over Rayo Vallecano, Espanyol have been impressed with his talent.

“Coutinho could remain with us,” Espanyol sporting director Ramon Planes commented. “We still have to talk to Inter about it, but we will give it a go and nothing is impossible.”

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder joined Inter in 2010 after two seasons in his homeland with Vasco Da Gama.
