Palermo’s Mauricio Pinilla, Vincenzo Iaquinta of Juventus and Catania’s Maxi Lopez are all being paired with the Tuscan outfit as a result.

Genoa have reportedly offered the former Milan man a five-year contract, with the option of a sixth season, worth €1.5m a campaign.

They have tabled Fiorentina a bid of €5.5m for him, whereas Viola sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is hoping to net closer to €8m for the World Cup winner.

Gilardino’s agent, Beppe Bozzo, will reportedly hold talks with both Fiorentina and Genoa at some point today.
