Inter technical director Marco Branca won't rule out selling Wesley Sneijder, “but we haven't even received any calls from Manchester.”
After weeks of links with Manchester United, this morning the Gazzetta dello Sport declared a deal was done to sell the Dutchman to Manchester City for €36m.
“You keep asking me about Sneijder's future, but in all honesty I don't know what to say,” commented Branca after the 2-1 Italian Super Cup defeat to Milan in Beijing.
“Right now there have been no talks and there are no negotiations between the clubs. We haven't even received any calls from Manchester.
“Sneijder is one of the best players in the world for his position, so it's normal that the top European clubs would be interested. It's natural that someone will try to get the best on the transfer market.”
Branca also commented on today's defeat to their Rossoneri rivals.
“It was a good first half with excellent football and Inter were deservedly in the lead. Unfortunately, during 20 minutes we lost our way and Milan took full advantage. We were really damaged in those 20 minutes.
“I heard the lads complain in the locker room afterwards that there was a push in the build-up to the equaliser, while in stoppages the Samuel Eto'o goal ruled offside might've been put back in play by an Alessandro Nesta touch.
“But I don't like to get into these issues of refereeing decisions with the benefit of hindsight. In fact, I say today the referee and his assistants did a good job in general.”
