Alberto Aquilani is looking forward to playing in England again after he returned to Liverpool from Juventus.

The Italian midfielder joined the Old Lady on loan last summer, but the club have decided against taking up their option to sign him outright.

"I'm returning to Liverpool with great enthusiasm and I have no problem with it," the Azzurri player told Sky Sport Italia.

"It's not true that I don't want to return to the Premiership."

Aquilani made an impressive start to his Juventus stint, but he faded as the side hit a rough patch of form.

"We began the season very well at Juventus," the 26-year-old continued. "Perhaps too much was expected of the side though and our limits were then exposed."

Aquilani isn't the only man to be axed by the Turin giants as their struggles last term ended in the dismissal of boss Luigi Del Neri.

"He paid the price for everyone else," the former Roma player noted. "He wasn't to blame for anything in particular."
