Marco Amelia has warned his former Palermo teammates that Milan are not underestimating the importance of the Coppa Italia.

The two teams meet in the first leg of their semi-final on Wednesday and Amelia insists that the Rossoneri are not just focused on the Scudetto.

"We really care about the Italian Cup, just as much as the Scudetto," said the 2006 World Cup winner.

"It would be important for us at Milan this season to complete the domestic double."

"It would be important for us at Milan this season to complete the domestic double."

Milan, six points clear at the top of the table, will be favourites to beat the Rosanero but Amelia respects the Sicilian threat.

"Their win at Roma over the weekend will have rejuvenated them and that may cause us problems," added the goalkeeper.

"They have a lot of young players who are enthusiastic to do well. It'll be hard for us too because we know how much Palermo want the Cup.

"We'll have to be very alert. Although they have had their difficulties recently, they can play good football."

Palermo, despite beating Milan 1-0 recently, have endured a problematic campaign which saw Delio Rossi rehired as Coach just weeks after being sacked for Serse Cosmi.

Amelia spent two seasons at the Stadio Barbera following his 2008 move from Livorno.

Inter and Roma meet in the other semi-final, with the first leg set for the Olimpico on Tuesday evening.
