Italy CT Roberto Mancini is expected to start Andrea Belotti, Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Chiesa in the World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria.

It kicks off this evening in Sofia at 19.45 GMT.

Giorgio Chiellini, Domenico Berardi and Francesco Caputo have returned to their clubs, Juventus and Sassuolo respectively.

Chiellini will be replaced by Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi, while Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola is the natural choice instead of Emerson Palmieri on the left.

The Azzurri won their opening World Cup qualifier 2-0 against Northern Ireland, while Bulgaria faced a 3-1 defeat against Switzerland.

Italy are on a 23-game unbeaten streak, having lost their last game in September 2018 against Portugal. The Azzurri are unbeaten in 17 of the previous 19 meetings against Bulgaria with ten victories and seven draws.
