Alberto Zaccheroni is encouraged by what he sees at Milan, but suggests they are still behind the likes of Juventus and Roma due to a need for balance.

The Rossoneri are in a positive mood following consecutive wins to begin the Serie A season and one former boss at San Siro believes the new man on the bench is to credit.

“The group has begun with the right spirit, the spirit of Inzaghi,” Zaccheroni has told the Gazzetta dello Sport today.

“We have to look further into the distance, the problem is not the quality but the continuity – there is no doubt, however, that many players are developing well.

“The construction is clear – I see an attack that scores and a midfield that battles – now they need balance.

“Given that there are teams out there already consolidated, I believe the likes of Juventus and Roma are still ahead.”
