Udinese sporting director Nero Bonato says Piotr Zielinski “will choose soon” between Napoli and Liverpool.

The Polish international has offers from both clubs, and is thought to prefer a move to the English Premier League.

However, his current club have urged him to join the Partenopei, as they are unhappy with the Reds’ conduct in approaching the midfielder, and a deal is reportedly close.

“I think there’s an agreement in principle with the clubs, but the lad going to the Euros froze the deal for the moment,” Bonato explained on Radio Marte.

“We’re in a waiting period. Zielinski will choose soon, he wanted time to focus solely on the European Championships. The priority now goes to a decision on his future.”

Full-back Silvan Widmer has also been linked with a move to the Vesuviani, but Bonato insists talks have not yet taken place.

“There aren’t many players like him, but Napoli haven’t decided whether to take him for Sarri or not. There’s interest, but the negotiations haven’t begun in earnest.

“Mirko Valdifiori? He’s interesting, but there are financial parameters which Udinese must respect.”
