The Marassi club were reported to have struck a deal with Vincenzo Montella to take over as Coach yesterday but no official announcement has arrived yet on Zenga’s departure.
The former Azzurri goalkeeper seemed resigned to his fate but strongly denied suggestions that he had left to Dubai on holiday.

“Am I on holiday in Dubai? Are we joking?” he said to Il Secolo XIX.
“I’m not here on holiday, my wife and children live here – it’s crazy to have read other things.
“Sacking? Leave me alone, I ask politely. C’est la vie.”
