“The eve of a game is always strange, this time it’s even more so,” Zenga said at a press conference.

“Preparing for an away game again has brought about many questions. I already know my formation and line-up, barring any late twists. You must always be ready to do something more.

“After a break of two months and training without friendlies, we’re all curious as coaches.

“From the players’ point of view, from the moment we were shown the new calendar, they saw the light at the end of the tunnel and increased their attentions.

“My philosophy is always to focus on today. If you do well today then you can do better tomorrow.

“I have so much motivation, I want to conquer cities and fans, giving my best. I’ve stopped using social media to go freediving until August 3.”

The former Inter goalkeeper replaced Rolando Maran in charge of Cagliari on March 3 but has yet to oversee a competitive fixture due to the coronavirus pandemic.
