“A season is a marathon and not a sprint, so we must be on form all the way through,” Coach Zenga told Samp TV.

“It’s all words right now, because nobody knows in what condition the squads will be when we do face off.

“We are proud to host Carpi in their first Serie A game, helping with their baptism in the top flight and it is a match that will enter history.

“I will also be taking on a colleague, Fabrizio Castori, who always did well and took a long journey to deservedly reach Serie A.

“Our second game against Napoli has a special fascination to it and it’s only right that we get big clashes in the opening rounds.”
