Ex-Bayern Munich boss Felix Magath has emerged as a shock candidate for the Udinese bench, but Walter Zenga is the new favourite to replace Igor Tudor.

According to Calciomercato.it, Magath has been proposed to the Pozzo family – who own Udinese – by intermediary Aldo Zampa.

The 66-year-old is currently without a job, having last managed Chinese club Shandong Luneng in 2017, and is thought to have given the go-ahead to an Italian experience.

He has won three Bundesliga titles, two with Bayern and one with Wolfsburg, and briefly managed English side Fulham in 2014.

However, his achievements in football have tended to be dwarfed by his unorthodox methods, which include using cheese as an injury treatment.

If Magath is a mere suggestion then Zenga seems the more realistic choice at this stage.

As per Alfredo Pedulla, the journeyman tactician is now the frontrunner to replace Tudor.

The former Italy goalkeeper was last in charge of Serie B side Venezia but lost his job in March.

Other candidates to fill the Zebrette vacancy include former Juventus assistant Massimo Carrera and ex-Milan Coach Gennaro Gattuso.
