“We have found our self-belief and it’d be an enormous pity if we didn’t manage to stay in Serie A.
“I feel like I’m on the edge of a nervous breakdown here! I won’t quite say like crying when watching Rocky IV, but nearly… I go looking for battles, there are still 90 minutes to play and we can do it.”
Crotone are in the bottom three, so their fate is not necessarily in their hands.
A win will see them safe as long one of Chievo, Cagliari, Udinese and SPAL lose. The problem for the Squali is that their head-to-head record is inferior to everyone but Chievo.
So if they win and Chievo draw, that away goal would give them the head-to-head advantage.
Crotone will stay up if they draw and SPAL lose to at home to Sampdoria. In any other situation, a draw relegates the Calabrians.
“Last week, I didn’t want to know what was happening elsewhere. I blocked it all out and just wanted to win. This time, it’s different.
“It’ll be tough with the wait and the adrenaline. You think of a thousand things and know it’s not only up to you.
“Napoli want to end the season with a victory in front of their fans, as they had an extraordinary year. They’ll also be saluting a few figures who are leaving, but their motivation cannot match ours.”
