Cagliari Coach Zdenek Zeman blasted his team after their home defeat to Chievo, admitting his side just didn’t turn up.

The Isolani are now in the relegation zone, with Chievo moving above them following a comfortable 2-0 win.

“We didn’t turn up at all,” the Czech Coach lamented in an interview with Sky after the game.

“As always we conceded a goal following a corner, we are inattentive and lack focus. Playing like that makes football so difficult.

“I didn’t expect that performance. In the last few games we’ve always tried to create something, but not today, not up-front or in the middle of the park.

“I hope it’s a temporary drop, because this team does have quality.”

Zeman made three changes at half-time, and was unequivocal when asked if he would have made 11 if the rules allowed for it.

“Yes, but you can’t. I wasn’t happy in the first half, but in the second half too we didn’t do much, and always relied on individuals.

“It could be fatigue from the Coppa Italia, but I don’t think so.”
