Sampdoria’s Duvan Zapata is happy to be at the club after making an instant impact against Torino.

The former Napoli forward scored just 20 seconds into his Blucerchiati debut as they held the Granata to a 2-2 Serie A draw.

“I am happy with the goal. We did well to make the most of that chance,” Zapata told reporters.

“We know that we have quality further back as well. We need to know how to take advantage of it for the benefit of the team.

“For us, it’s important to take the team as high as possible come the end of the season.”

While it always appeared likely that the Colombian would be leaving Napoli during the summer, Samp’s opponents today were also said to be interested in his services.

However, Zapata is happy to have moved to Marassi and is looking forward to regular game time.

“These are the good things about football, I am very happy that I am here today.

“Since the first day, they have given me the chance to work and get the most out of my qualities.

“This was my first match after a long time, I want to get my form back.”
