Nicolo Zaniolo should be fit for Italy’s next Euro U21 match after confirming his head is ‘okay’ following a nasty collision against Spain.
Zaniolo took a heavy blow to the head after Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon flew off his line to clear an incoming cross.
The Roma midfielder was then stretchered off with an icepack on his face and seemed to be on his way to hospital for a CT scan.
However, he appeared in the mixed zone after the Azzurrini’s 3-1 win to tell reporters: “I’m fine, my head is okay.”

Consequently, there does not appear to be any risk of the 19-year-old leaving the tournament at this stage.
