Inter captain Javier Zanetti says the wellbeing of the club will be the key factor when it comes to deciding his long term future.

The Argentine paid tribute to the Nerazzurri and Italian football as a whole but said his next move would not be decided until the summer.

“Inter has given me so much and I am very proud,” Zanetti said after collecting Fiorentina’s Fair Play Cartellino Viola 2013 award.

“Italian football will always be a part of me. In life everyone always does what they feel is right.

“You can make mistakes but then you need to say you’re sorry and start again.

“This season I wanted to return from a serious injury, show I can be useful and keep playing.

“The most important thing is the future of this team, qualifying for Europe and finishing the season well.

“Then we will see, I am here and available.

“The bond between me and Inter will last forever.

“At the end of this season, thanks to the great relationship I have with Erick Thohir, we will assess what is best for Inter.”
