Javier Zanetti has admitted that Inter have no master plan to save their season. “We just have to take things one game at a time.”

The Nerazzurri’s disappointing campaign continued in Turin on Sunday night when they were defeated 2-0 by Juventus.

That loss means that the Nerazzurri are now eighth in the standings, 10 points adrift of the last remaining Champions League spot.

“We have to think Sunday after Sunday,” the veteran told Sky Sport Italia when asked where the side go on from here.

“It’s useless to make calculations. We have to try and win as much as possible and do the best that we possibly can. It has been a negative season and it’s pointless trying to hide that.”

Inter did impress with the way they pressed and restricted Juve in the first half of yesterday’s tie, but the Old Lady came out on top with goals from Martin Caceres and Alex Del Piero.

“Inter, particularly in the first half, played a great game, and we did so at Juve's ground in a stadium in which the Bianconeri are unbeaten,” he added.

“We knew we could cause them problems, but we failed to capitalise. We also started the second half well, but their goal took the wind out of our sails.”
