Javier Zanetti has revealed that his future with Inter should be clearer next month, as he looks for a suitable role.
The Argentine legend quit the game after 19 seasons with the Nerazzurri this year, and has admitted to talking with President Erick Thohir about a role behind the scenes.
“I’ve been talking with Thohir for months to find a corporate role that’s suitable,” he told reporters.
“In early June I’ll be able to be more precise about my future at Inter.”
The 40-year-old then commented on his omission from the starting XI for his last ever derby and his career in general.
“I’m not angry about the exclusion. I remain a professional at heart and it’s not my style to challenge the decision of the Coach.
“All I regret is the fact that we lost the game.
“Other than that though I have no regrets in my career. I’m just happy that I’ve received so much respect from everyone.”
