Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti said “we got back on track in Serie A and it’s time to do the same in the Europa League” with Sparta Prague.

It kicks off at 18.00 UK time (17.00 GMT), follow the build-up and action on the LIVEBLOG.

“In Serie A we got back on track and now it’s time to do the same in the Europa League. Everyone agrees we did badly in the opening game, but Sparta are coming off a defeat too, so it’s an important result for both teams,” Zanetti told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have players who work very hard off the ball and helping the defence, but should also get the chances to score goals.”

Andrea Ranocchia is in the starting XI again today, so is he finding his form again?

“I am very happy with the way Andrea is playing. It’s a shame he didn’t score on Sunday, as he deserved it. Frank de Boer has a lot of faith in Ranocchia and he’ll contribute along with the others to a great season.”

There are several youngsters in the side too, as Assane Gnoukouri and Senna Miangue both start.

“We are happy for Gnoukouri, as on Sunday he came off the bench during a difficult moment and showed great character. We should see him become even more decisive going forward.

“Inter have an excellent youth academy, we have Zonta on the bench today who I think can give the team a hand too. We want as many of them as possible to wear the senior squad shirt and De Boer agrees with that.”

Zanetti also took an opportunity to congratulate Inter’s city cousins Milan, as today is the birthday of both Andriy Shevchenko and President Silvio Berlusconi.

“I’d like to wish a happy birthday to Sheva and President Berlusconi. We faced off in so many derbies and Berlusconi changed Italian football.”
