Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti discusses Mauro Icardi – “I hope he can stay here for many years and become a legend”.
The striker played his 200th game for the Nerazzurri against PSV on Tuesday night, scoring in a 1-1 draw which saw his side eliminated from the Champions League.
“His contribution is always very important,” Zanetti acknowledged, speaking to Xinhua on a visit to China.
“I hope he can stay for many years and become a legend in the club’s history.”

Zanetti also reflected on Tuesday’s match, which sees the Beneamata drop to the Europa League.
“Last season’s objective was to qualify for the Champions League, unfortunately our journey ended with the PSV match.
“That doesn’t mean we don’t have any more objectives. Serie A, the Europa League and the Coppa Italia are three very important competitions for us, and we need to keep putting in good performances.”
