Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has slammed his team after their poor start to the season.

The Rosanero currently sit in 17th place in Serie A, and the club's owner has admitted that mistakes were made over the summer.

“When things go wrong, that's when you realize you've done something wrong,” he told reporters.

“During the summer Palermo was built badly – the team lacked quality, but also lacked character.

“We were certainly deficient in certain areas. The left-hand side for instance – we lost Andrea Mantovani to injury and we were left with just Santiago Garcia.

“I want to see my team play more attacking football. Paolo Dybala needs to play more – you score with striker, not midfielders.”
