Palermo's new Israeli star Eran Zahavi has pledged to “fire up the fans with great performances and spectacular tricks.”

The trequartista completed his transfer from Hapoel Tel Aviv and has no concerns about diving into Serie A.

“I am happy to become part of such an ambitious side,” said Zahavi at his presentation Press conference.

“The Palermo fans are known for being very passionate. I hope to fire them up straight away with great performances and spectacular tricks.

“I'm glad President Maurizio Zamparini has put so much faith in me. I will do my talking on the pitch and show you what I can do.

“I'd like to score at least 8-10 goals in my first season. I won't promise 20 and then only net 5.”

The newcomer was also impressed with Coach Stefano Pioli as Palermo began pre-season training.

“He is very kind and talks to me a great deal. I try to do what he asks and don't want to let him down.”

There could be more new arrivals, as it's widely reported Palermo will sign Uruguayan winger Ignacio Lores Varela from Defensor Sporting.
