Napoli have suggested that they would only sign Mauro Icardi if they could guarantee him first team football.

The Azzurri failed in a January bid to net the Sampdoria player and it seems that he’ll now be joining Inter at the end of the season.

“He’s a potential star of the future,” Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis noted. “We’ll certainly hear more about him.

“Napoli made a move, but we also take into account certain factors which other clubs perhaps do not,” added ADL.

“We are reflecting on our steps because to sign a player and then not give him the chance to play is the worst thing you can do.”

The Argentine striker, 20, has scored nine goals in 22 League games for the port club so far this season. He's valued at around €15m.
