Mario Yepes has admitted he’s realistic about Colombia’s chances at the World Cup, but won’t rule out Italy.

The Atalanta defender is going to the tournament with the South American country, but admits it will be tough for them just to get out of a group that includes Japan, Ivory Coast and Greece.

“I hope we will do well,” he told L’Eco di Bergamo. “But I am a realist. Getting out of the group will be a challenge in itself.

“It’s a tough one. I think making it to the knockout stages will be a good result.

“For me, Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Spain have something else. Who’s going to win? Brazil.

“As for Italy, all I hear is pessimism, but they always seem to come good when it matters.”
