Inter defender Nemanja Vidic is ready for battle ahead of the Milan derby, and feels that the importance of victory transcends everything else.
As a veteran of some intense football from his years playing with Manchester United the defender considers the Derby della Madonnina to be one of those matches that you simply cannot afford to lose.

As a veteran of some intense football from his years playing with Manchester United the defender considers the Derby della Madonnina to be one of those matches that you simply cannot afford to lose.
“These are the matches you always want to win, no matter how,” Vidic has told Inter Channel today.
“We hope to have fun, to play a good game, and above all else to win.”
For all of his emphasis on this philosophy, Vidic seems to be coming into the match with a bright outlook.
“I can't wait to experience the atmosphere and to play, these games are always so exciting.
“It is important and wonderful to play these games in contact with the supporters of both teams.”
The Milan derby also represents the debut match for Roberto Mancini, who coached Vidic's rival team Manchester City in the Premier League.
“We played some games against each other and he won a few of them,” said Vidic.
“In general he did very well with City. The supporters remember him as one of the best Coaches, not least because he was the first to bring them back to victory after so many years.”
Speaking about Mancini's return to Inter, Vidic sounded positively cheerful.
“A new Coach always brings new ideas and a new philosophy.
“Mancini shows us what he wants and what he expects from us in his training sessions, and this way it's wonderful and also great fun.”
As for the four-man defence that Mancini is likely to introduce, Vidic was confident it would not trouble him.
“It's the formation that I played in before. I am already used to it.”
