A draw against Ukraine is enough for Italy to qualify for Euro 2024, but a victory would allow the Azzurri to be in the third pot in the draw.

Italy and Ukraine meet at the BayArena in Leverkusen tonight when the Azzurri will need at least a draw to qualify for Euro 2024.

However, the Azzurri will need to win to be in the best possible position in the Euro 2024 group stage draw that will take place on December 2.

A victory against Ukraine would see the Azzurri finish their qualification group with 16 points and surely earn a place in pot three.

On the other hand, a draw would almost certainly force Italy to be in the fourth and final pot with more chances to meet the best countries in the Euro 2024 group stage.

Host country Germany will be in pot one alongside the five best qualification group stage winners. Portugal, France, England and Belgium will surely join the Germans in pot one alongside Denmark or Vincenzo Montella’s Turkey.

Hungary and Austria have already secured a place in pot 2.
