Fiorentina and West Ham United meet in the Conference League Final this evening, but once again the financial clout of the Premier League is clear in the vastly different revenue streams.

It kicks off at the Eden Arena in Prague at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

On paper, it is quite an evenly-matched final between the two teams, as the Hammers are unbeaten in the competition this season, while the Viola had a run of nine consecutive victories and are top scorers of the tournament.

However, off the pitch, the situation is very different and brings home once again the huge economic power of the Premier League clubs.

Football Benchmark calculate that the West Ham total operating revenue is €301.2m, compared to just €111.2m for Fiorentina.

This is not due to a lack of investment, as Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso is one of the richest men in America.

As ever, the broadcasting revenue from television rights means just existing in the Premier League allows clubs to dwarf other sides, the Hammers picking up €193.2m compared to just €51.2m for Fiorentina.

Commisso has been battling for years to get a new stadium built in Florence, and it’s obvious why when West Ham have €48.8m in matchday revenue and the Viola only a pitiful €7.9m.

Most stadiums in Italy are not owned by the clubs, they are merely rented out on matchday by the local council and sit empty for the rest of the week.

The commercial revenue is a little more balanced, with West Ham on €59.2m and Fiorentina €52.1m.
