There are several reasons why Napoli would much prefer to sign Kim Min-jae from Fenerbahce rather than PSG defender Abdou Diallo.
The Partenopei need a reliable centre-back after selling Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea for €40m including add-ons.
Their first choice is and always has been South Korea international Kim and that remains the case, even if they continue to battle with Rennes for his signature at the €20m release clause.
There are quite a few reasons why Kim is preferable to Diallo, including suggestions from Sportmediaset that coach Luciano Spalletti specifically asked for him.
He is also far cheaper, available for €20m rather than €30m, and his wage demands are approximately half those of Diallo, who currently earns €5m per season net.
Another reason is also financial, namely that Kim would sell far more jerseys in South Korea, giving Napoli an in-road to a lucrative and growing market of consumers.
Napoli are the only Serie A side who manufacture their own shirts and therefore make more money from kit sales than clubs who go through sponsors.
thing is that neither have any re-sale value, however neither cost much, suprised napoli not looking at Eric Bailey
@Mohammed Kim is 25. How does he not have any resale value????
