Cesare Prandelli has confirmed that he will make several changes to the Italy XI when they play Armenia tomorrow.

The Azzurri face the Eastern Europeans in Naples on Tuesday in their final World Cup qualifier.

The Coach though, has admitted that he will make some alterations to the team but wants a win to end qualification well.

“It’s going to be a tough game,” he told reporters. “We have to win to stay seeded for the next round of qualifiers, so three points are a must for me.

“There are going to be several changes, but I want the boys to play a smart game and for them to justify my faith in them.

“We have an obligation to play well, because Armenia have the chance to get to the play-offs.

“They’ve got some great players, especially on the counter-attack and with long balls.

Prandelli then touched on Mario Balotelli’s recent indiscretion in Naples, that saw him strike out at a cameraman.

“Sometimes the Press against Mario is exaggerated, even is sometimes he makes mistakes.

“I do not want to talk about it anymore. I have taken the same position as [FIGC President Giancarlo] Abete – this matter is now closed.

“I want to talk about the football. Yesterday Mario had a good training session, so we’ll have to see if he’s fit enough to start.

“He did not seem to have any problems today though.”
