Inter’s 2018-19 campaign has been marred by off-field issues between the club, Icardi and Wanda, but the striker has been restored to their first team after losing the captaincy and subsequently sitting out the next six weeks.

“We’ll still be here next season,” she told Verissimo.

“Mauro keeps scoring because he’s the cornerstone of the family. Now he’s calmer.

“He embraces everyone because he’s always had a beautiful relationship with everyone.”

Wanda then chimed in on her recent legal action against her husband’s sister Ivana.

“I’m not a witch,” she insisted.

“We’ve always helped his family. Ivana came to my house a couple of months ago and we opened the doors to her and her boyfriend, who is also a footballer.

“Mauro is a great man. I fell in love with the person, not the character. She’s been speaking ill of her brother. You can’t put a price on that.

“She’s learnt how to become a character.”
