The two players had been all ready to complete their swap transfer on Monday evening, but by Tuesday it had collapsed after pressure from angry Nerazzurri supporters.
Vucinic had already passed his medical with Inter and his agent was at the club HQ to sign the contract when President Erick Thohir pulled the plug.
According to the latest reports from Sky Sport Italia, the clubs are back in negotiations, but only for Vucinic.
It’s possible the Montenegro international could still make the move to San Siro without Guarin included in the deal.
It would be on loan for a €3m fee with a mandatory option to buy at the end of the season.
This would slam the door on Premier League sides interested in Vucinic, including Arsenal and Tottenham.
Today Vucinic’s agent publicly denied rumours the forward had failed his medical.
“FC Internazionale has decided not to continue negotiations with Juventus regarding the transfer of Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic,” read Tuesday’s statement.
“President Thohir, having conferred with Massimo Moratti and the club's management team, did not feel that the necessary technical and financial conditions were in place to come to a satisfactory agreement.
“The President has already instructed the club's sporting directors to assess other transfer opportunities, with the aim of strengthening the team while respecting the parameters imposed by the Financial Fair Play rules.”
