German youngster Kevin Volland has praised strike partner Miroslav Klose, calling the Lazio forward ‘a huge role model’.

The Hoffenheim goalscorer has been named in Joachim Low’s initial 30-man Germany squad the for World Cup.

And the 21-year-old has admitted what a thrill it is to be playing alongside Mannschaft legends like Klose.

“Every morning I get up and look forward to training with the boys,” he told Bild. “It is a lot of fun, because the level is extremely high.

“You have to imagine this: Miro played his first tournament in 2002 – when I was just 10 years old.

“Just by his international experience, he is a huge role model for me. I can learn a lot from him – and will continue to do so. In training we've talked a few times.

“He tells me what I can and must do better. He helps me hugely. Miro is just a super guy.”
