Palermo have revealed that an English club are looking to sign Italian international goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

The latter is available for transfer this summer after the Rosanero were relegated and Fiorentina turned down the option to sign him outright after last season’s loan in Florence.

“There is an English path that exists for Viviano,” Palermo director Giorgio Perinetti told Sport Italia. “However, it all still needs to be verified.

“We will see over the next few days whether the transfer will be possible or not.”

The Stadio Renzo Barbera outfit have a variety of goalkeepers who have attracted the interest of sides across Europe.

Perinetti, however, has insisted that they are only prepared to wave goodbye to the former Bologna, Inter and Genoa man.

“Stefano Sorrentino and Samir Ujkani are not on the market,” the former Bari and Siena employee added.
