Fiorentina have reportedly missed out on a windfall of €20m as it is claimed Bayern Munich will not sign Eintracht Frankfurt winger Ante Rebic.

Rebic appeared to be closing in on a €40m transfer to Bayern, but Eurosport cites a pact made by their new boss Niko Kovac of not signing anyone from his former club.

That would have opened the doors to the Premier League, with the broadcaster noting Arsenal and Manchester United are ‘readying’ offers.

Fiorentina sold the attacker to Frankfurt last summer for only €4m, playing him just 12 times in five years, but retained a 50 percent sell-on clause.

Rebic – who turns 25 in September – starred during Croatia’s run to the 2018 World Cup Final.
