Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly promised he ‘won’t leave’ after his return in town from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 30-year-old had captained Senegal to AFCON glory and landed at Napoli’s Capodichino Airport today.

He was welcomed by several compatriots and Napoli fans and briefly spoke to them after his arrival.

“Thank you for the warm welcome, it makes me really happy. I am here, I won’t leave,” he said.

“I thank you for what you’ve done for me. I am proud to be here with all of you.”

Koulibaly reunited with his teammates after this morning’s training session at Castel Volturno. Although he will only train once with the rest of the group before Saturday’s game against Inter, Luciano Spalletti will likely start him in the crucial match against the Nerazzurri at the Stadio Maradona.
