Italian coaches Roberto De Zerbi and Cristian Stellini appeared to have a tense discussion before kick-off when Brighton and Tottenham met in the Premier League today.

This was an intriguing occasion with two representatives from the Peninsula in charge of clubs who are challenging for places in Europe.

Stellini was Antonio Conte’s assistant manager for many years and took over when the head coach parted company with Spurs by mutual consent last month.

De Zerbi and Stellini had been complimentary about each other before the game, so it’s not clear what sparked the discussion.

The Brighton boss seemed particularly irritated by something and was warning Stellini.
