Lucas Beltran has started his journey from Argentina to Italy, where the River Plate striker will have a medical with Fiorentina, despite a late Roma attempt to intercept.
The centre-forward is set to make the transfer for €22m including bonuses plus a 10 per cent cut of the sell-on fee.
Roma had made a desperate surge to get involved and submit their own proposal last night, but it was seemingly too late to break what was already a promise between clubs and the player himself.
