Vidal starts in midfield, as Nicolò Barella is out for both legs due to suspension, but Liverpool manager Klopp said this was just the kind of game where the experienced Chilean can shine.

“I agree with Jurgen Klopp,” grinned Vidal on Amazon Prime Italia.

“He is one of the best coaches in the world, he knows about football and how my career developed.

“It’s true that I have played many Champions League games at the top level, now I am here with Inter and it’s the most important game in the two years I have been here.”

Liverpool won all six of their Champions League group games, so do the Reds have any weaknesses?

“We hope so! We know that we need the perfect performance to get a good result and set up a strong second leg.”
