Juventus’ Arturo Vidal and Carlos Carmona of Atalanta have been banned for Chile’s next 10 international ties.

The duo – as well as Jorge Valdivia, Jean Beausejour and Gonzalo Jara – have been punished after breaking a curfew while last on international duty.

“The sanction is to be applied to the next 10 matches following this decision involving the senior national team, be it in competitive matches or friendlies,” the Chilean Football Association said.

The five men were allowed to leave the side’s training camp ahead of the November 7 tie against Uruguay, but infuriated boss Claudio Borghi by returning to base 45 minutes later than agreed.

The Chilean FA also added that the players were “in an inadequate state to comply with their obligations as professional footballers – since they showed evident signs of having consumed alcohol.”
