Italy and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has only sprained his ankle with no fracture.
The 26-year-old limped off during the opening stages of their 9-0 victory over Guingamp on Saturday, as he fell awkwardly and his ankle was accidentally trodden on by Felix Eboa-Eboa.
Coach Thomas Tuchel immediately said he was concerned it was “a serious injury,” prompting some to assume there was a fracture or ligament damage.

However, a statement from Paris Saint-Germain this morning confirms an MRI scan showed only a nasty sprain and no lesions.
There will need to be a few more days of rest before more accurate tests can be performed, waiting for the swelling to go down, but it is now hoped Verratti will be available for the Champions League showdown with Manchester United on February 12.
